Mission Statement:
To award QueensburyHigh seniors
a scholarship who demonstrate the qualities, the
drive and the dedication Kyle
exemplified in his life.

Who Master Trooper Kyle Was…

 Kyle grew up in Queensbury, NY where he graduated in 1980. He went on to attend DeVry Institute in Dallas, Texas. Met his wife, who was originally from South Glens Falls. They moved back to this area for a year and then relocated to North Carolina.

Kyle served as a trooper for the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Troop F, District 2 Patrol Office in Wilkesboro North Carolina from January 1985 until his untimely death on May 19, 2009;  24 Years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife, three children, his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and their families.

Kyle was a member of the Wilkes Telephone Board of Directors, was a member of the Shepherds Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors, and coached girl’s soccer at East Wilkes High School;

Kyle was a leading citizen, an outstanding law enforcement officer and was always dedicated to the welfare of the citizens of Wilkes County and sincerely committed to the fundamental principles of good government.

Dedication…

In 1996, Kyle was injured while on duty and underwent several surgeries.  He was told that he should retire but to Kyle that was not an option & he would return to duty.  After surgeries, hard physical therapy and even more determination, Kyle did return to doing what he loved.

In 2007, Kyle was again injured while assisting another trooper during an ATV stop.  As a result of his injuries, several surgeries, & complications…God called him Home on May 19th, 2009.

Remember…
As we hold Kyle close to our hearts, we will honor his qualities thru this scholarship.
Are you..
